Claude Cahun disavowed confessions
In this image at the bottom of the page up to a third of the page is a zoomed in image of an eyeball and inside the iris is a females head upside down the eye looks as if it is scared. On the right side of the eye is a leg tilted as if it is running away. In the middle of this image on the left is a pair of legs with the left foot slightly crossing over the right one and on the right to that is some paper that has been folded up in different ways it looks as if it is an arrow sign but the point part has been moved up as it is being taken away from the rest of the sign. On the right of the paper is a hand curled over holding onto a mirror handle or a latch to a jar. The hand is coming out from behind the eye. To the right of that would be another set of legs but from above looking at the tops of the knees as if someone is taking an image of them while standing up. The legs are placed horizontal so one foot is going into the eye at the bottom and the other foot is intertwined with a hand that is above. Above the foot getting closer to the top of the page is a hand that is missing the thumb, the foot of the leg below is underneath the pinky finger and over the index and middle finger. Above the hand slightly away from the top right corner is an arm and a shoulder the hand is holding onto the shoulder as if they are modelling, next to the arm is a piece of paper shaped into a hand pointing down with its thumb out overlapping the mirror below it. Slightly away from the left hand corner is the other side of the arm and shoulder doing the same pose, above the pair of legs on the left hand side is another paper folded in different ways this time the arrow is facing towards the right and slightly more up. From the middle top of the page to about just a fourth down the page is a mirror with a woman's head inside showing just the top half of her face and her arm holding up some fabric to either hide herself or reveal herself. The image is completely in black and white with many grey tones for contrast. The artist made sure to show all the curves in leg placement or even in the eyes by using different grey scales.
As I look at this image my eye moves up and down multiple times trying to find something to connect together as there are many different pieces within but nothing actually connects and it confuses me and I don't know where to start looking nothing draws my eye in straight away. The artist has decided which parts they want to overlap which they haven't decided on a certain light source all the light is coming from different parts. It feels as if the artist has randomly placed things around I don't see any pattern that would suggest why they put parts in the place they were placed. This image makes me feel confused my eyes don't know where to look or where to start looking. I also don't understand what its supposed to be is there a certain meaning to it are things placed where they are for a reason? To live in this picture would be like you are falling through a dark tunnel of memories or things that may happen in the future. An idea that this image gives me is the artist is showing the features that they like best or they are trying to reveal their identity to the world they are starting to get more comfortable with expressing their self. This image could also show how the artist feels that they aren't one they are multiple different parts their life doesn't feel connected either. What I would say is unusual about this image is the decision of what to add within the picture why did the artist decide to use body parts and why are there two random bits of folded paper? What I like most about this image would be the depth of the images I enjoy how they have used different light and dark tones and I enjoy how some parts look as if they had been draw on.

Liam Wong
Liam Wong is an artist who was inspired by Miguel Santana's memories of Tokyo and films that play with colour in a way thats very surreal. For his work he tried to make it a cyberpunk theme due to his love of video games and Japanese animations. When finding the locations for his work he would search on google maps areas in his vicinity and would go to the area he liked most that had unique architecture and would go and photograph it at night in many different angels. He would also go out and ask taxi drivers and shop workers and see if they had any places he could use for his images. he enjoyed taking his pictures at rainy times as it had more of a cyberpunk video game feel to it. he would also focus on the contrast between old and new architecture to show how something evolves overtime. Once he had all the images he needed he would take them into photoshop and heighten the impact on the colour theory. People are very attracted to his vibrant night time cityscapes and neon filled high contrast images. In more recent images his use of light has changed he use to use many bright neon colours for cyberpunk feel but now he warms his colours and removes some for a more cinematic feel to it.

Evaluation
To create these images I was inspired by Liam Wong I liked the light that he has in his images and wanted to try to create similar light I also wanted to create it to be more 3D other than 2D. The image I chose was my favourite image from Liam Wong's book Tokyo I like this image as i like the different colours that it has within it and it is a very empty yet full image as not much is going on in it but theres so much to look at. I chose this lay out as I wanted to make it look more 3D and like it is coming out of the image instead of just being flat I wanted to let certain parts of the image have different spotlights. I also used studio lights with different coloured ace-tape to bring out the colours of the image more. I chose pink and blue first as they are the main colours in the image then started to play around with purple and green which gave it a much more lighter tone to it. Next time I would use more colours and use different images and add them together to make it more different to the original photo.
Matt Lipps
Matt Lipps works on photo-sculptures using a specific way to make every sculpture he relies on collaging sculptural tropes and theatre staging techniques. He uses images he finds from magazines cuts them out and turn them into still life images. Matt Lipps creates images by collaging in real life to then re photographing them and he calls them a newly positioned constellation of images and likes the fact that the photographs reflect and shape our ideas of self and other, the world we inhabit and how we move through it.
Daniel gordon
Daniel gordon says that he is interested in the process of 2 dimensional to 3 dimensional then back to 2 dimensional. He focuses a lot of the human body he is also interested in the ways photography can transform reality he creates very colourful and complex sculptures. Gordon is mostly interested in making sculptures that question the object image relationship.
Experiment 2
Evaluation
To create these images i was inspired by Daniel Gordon and Matt Lipps. I like the fact that Daniel Gordon creates a background of weird shapes and makes his image seem more full and flat although it is 3d and I enjoyed Matt Lipps use of layers of different things to create a scene like picture. I wanted to incorporate these two things that I enjoyed into one image. The images used in this creation are ones I took of my world around me buildings and walls I walk past everyday. The layouts I chose were using the places I have and creating what I remember every time I walk past them. The second layout I chose was keeping the bigger images in the back and smaller images to the front to try and show that the person looking at it is far away and looking at multiple houses. The last layout I did was using the images I had multiple of and placing them in front of their double the smaller in front to show layers using different sized images that are the same. Next time I would like to use different images with different sizes and use different lightings to try add depth like Matt Lipps does instead of using natural light.
Making days plan
Before the making days I want to take images of a place in my area and go to different angles of the place and photographing them to get different view points of the same place I am photographing.
Day 1: I want to get my photographs I have printed out before hand and put it onto mount board to get it ready to create it into a 3d piece of work. I would like to try cutting parts of the images into abstract shapes. I am interested in layers of buildings and the way they look against the skyline in a city. I want to make a photo sculpture that explores the various layered structures of a group of buildings seen from different viewpoints. I will make this in card and re-photograph the structure in a studio environment with interesting lighting.
Day 2: using the sculpture I made the day before I will like to take it into the studio photographing it in interesting lighting. Once I have images in various different lightings I will print out my images creating a portfolio of the images I made of my sculpture. Throughout this process I have used a 3d world and turned it into a 2d image then will be making it into a 3d sculpture back into a 2d image.
